Here is an image of the blue grey tinted floor in the garage. This is one of the nicest garage floors we have ever created. For our client, the hope is that someday it might be converted it into a bedroom. Or perhaps it could be used as an expanded studio space. Therefore, Carolyn was tasked with combining the two water based pigments used throughout the house. Happily she was given free reign to create something new and potentially unique. The tints were layered together using multiple passes to create this mottled blue grey tinted cement floor.

We have only in past projects tinted cement floors with acid stains. This was our first attempt to learn how to apply and hopefully master water based pigments for cement floors. It took some practice (and nerve) but in the end we got where we wanted to be.

The garage has sheet rocked walls which were then skimmed with a light gypsum coat for a crisp finish. The ICF we use makes sheet rock installation fairly simple. Earthen plasters can be applied easily to these walls as well. They need no extra preparation and a two coat application works quite well.
