This image features the bathroom vanity with a honed flagstone countertop. The single slab sits upon two steel supports.
The owner did not want to have an enclosed vanity, opting instead for this arrangement which did not cover the plumbing. Not everyone’s personal choice, but one that fit the overall industrial design of the house.
The small privacy divider was also topped with a small slab of honed flagstone. Both toppers were finished off with an eco-bees wax blend, without any additional penetrating sealant applied.
As in the kitchen, back splashes were not installed against the lime plastered walls. A very clean look but one that will require extra care for any splashing of sundry items in the vanity area.
For those with more robust households getting a certain amount of use from multiple family members – we always suggest putting in some sort of back splash for added protection against the plastered walls. Plastered walls cannot be washed down like painted walls can.
This bathroom vanity with flagstone countertop was cut from a single piece of large flagstone. Not an easy thing to pull off. The stone masons did a great job.
