This image shows 8 inch by 8 inch blue and white graphic tiles on the bedroom partial-wall.

These tiles like the blue and grey patterned tile on the half-wall in front of the fireplace were made of cement. They too were thick and unsealed – so required us to seal each tile with an eco-friendly sealant.

Metal small channels were used here as well as a bull nose for the top and side edges. In keeping with the other wall and overall industrial look throughout the home.

One thing to bear in mind when considering half walls in a home design is the noise. It does allow for more light to move throughout the house and enhances the open floor plan concept.

We speak from personal experience on the noise factor. We chose to create 2/3 walls in between our bedroom and personal spaces which bookend the bedroom. We were planning on adding glass to the partial wall to allow for more light to pass through. But in the end opted to keep the walls open. We do have a bit more sound moving from each of our rooms when in use into the other.

One thing to bear in mind with certain aesthetic design elements. Functionality and the effects upon other rooms if in a household with more than one person.

The graphic tiles on this bedroom half- wall provide an overall dramatic look.
