This image of the southwest view was taken at the time of project completion. Tongue and groove white pine planks were used for the soffits. Metal clad wood windows were installed – we find to be the best solution with the intense UV sun in our area.
Multiple windows will provide good cross ventilation when the temperatures warm up in summer. The south facing direction of the sun room will provide added heat in the winter. This small original house has a design which limits the amount of direct sun due to a porch (portal). Adding this new room will provide some light to the overall space.
