Here is an image featuring the sliding door to exercise room which we have just added onto this older adobe home. Future plans include an out door hot tub near the retaining wall we just installed, so plumbing was added for that feature. A deck and outdoor area will be added as well, in addition to canvas shades for outdoor enjoyment. The views in this home offer a great panorama of the Sange de Cristo Mountains to the east. This home, we have been told, was one of the very first to have passive solar design in Santa Fe, if the information given to us is correct. There is a large sun room to the south east which has interior adobe walls, in addition to the exterior walls, providing an excellent source of heat retention in winter, and of course, cooling in summer.
We have worked to upgrade this home for a few years, in anticipation of the family retiring to Santa Fe, our work shown in these gallery featured pages – Master Bathroom Renovation and Kitchen Remodel.
It has been a delight to help this home evolve over the years – as our friends added some very special touches with care and efficiency to reflect their good taste. They were able to upgrade many aspects of the home by being mindful and clever when making big purchases, which is always great to see.
