The single care garage also has the dark brown finished Stowe brand plaster. The coyote fence is in place and things are shaping up nicely as our client settles in.

In the image right (next to the single car garage) can be seen the water catchment containers. They have been placed below the frost line for this area. It will prevent freezing and also be less of an eye sore. In future gallery images they will be shown painted to match the home.

Featured again are some small visable details of the copper metal roofing. We thought the color choices blended nicely.

One aspect we had to address with this completely off-grid home was fire prevention. The house is located a few miles from the main road and too far from an active fire hydrant. Local fire marshals insisted we install a sprinkler system, of which we brought in a sub contractor to provide.

The system works off of a many gallon water holding tank in the mechanical room. The tank is designated only for use with the sprinklers and is not directly linked into the main catchment system.  We heard from local building officials that in home sprinkler systems may become mandatory soon in the area and part of the local code. Given how much drought weather and how many wildfires have become the norm, we can agree that they are a good idea. Even though the fire rating on the wall system used is good, extra protection is always a recommended.
