An overhead view of the saltillo tile repair on a step down in this older adobe home renovation in Chimayo, New Mexico. Here shows the transition point between the new living room and sun room created when the court yard of this home was closed-in. The image top shows the aged old saltillo tiles and below our hand cut tiles to fill in those missing during the demo of the old floor.

Luckily once we filled in the grout, due to the tiles available being unsealed saltillos, the wash left on the new tiles, happily created an aged look which transitioned perfectly. In short, our new tiles ended up looking aged and blending in perfectly with the old courtyard tiles.

Other views in this particular gallery show the sequence of events which helped create this beautiful new light and bright living room. The view of the living area and sun room is highlighted by the floor to ceiling windows facing south which give an amazing view of the three acres the home sits upon and the surrounding mountain views.
