Another view of the new earthen floor in this small casita near Taos. This cute, small space had been built years before our friends acquired it. They set about bringing in some fresh aspects and asked us to help. At the top of the list was to repair the damaged ones and lay a new earthen floor in two rooms.
They also decided to upgrade the floor tiles in the bathroom and kitchen, so we were happy to help. We also freshened up some of the walls were slightly grubby due to the home being rented as a vacation rental. That aspect was a bit tricky as the tint of gypsum plaster used throughout was not made by manufacturers any longer.
We solved that issue by Carolyn choosing a paint tint which matched the stucco and thinning it and using it as a thing color wash. It worked beautifully and blended into the existing walls perfectly.
