This image shows the rock filled gabion retaining wall on the northwest side of the new home. The slope of the land required a fair amount of cutting to level. Water run off should always be given serious attention when building a new home, especially with local seasonal monsoon rains. This wall will serve as a good berm for water management.
Which lead to a healthy drop down. In order to manage water run-off during the rainy season, this step down gabion wall served as a good barrier. A medium-sized gravel was laid around the entire house in order to keep the normal dust levels to a minimum.
