This image shows the composite grey double sink contrasted against the new butcher block countertop.

The family allowed us to help choose light fixtures and the bath and kitchen sinks. It seems that a durable finish would be a good choice for this kitchen.

The grey composite (granite looking) double sink compliments the walnut stained butcher block countertop. We suggested it for its unique shape and deep sink features. Pricing for the composite sink was reasonable.

An extensive renovation was the plan for this entire home. Therefore we always wanted to keep the budget in mind. We know how costs can add up quickly for home renovation projects. And working with older homes that is especially true.

We helped choose the kitchen faucet as well. Having a spray component seemed like a good choice. One that could provide multiple uses. We also prefer single toggle faucets and suggested a design with one. Temperatures can be easily adjusted without wasting water. Using two handles for hot and cold to find the perfect temperature can be wasteful.

The countertop chosen by the client was a nice choice – a solid butcher block. The family opted for off the shelf cabinetry rather than having custom cabinets made. We again helped choose the style to work with the butcher block.

The butcher block top was tinted with a walnut oiled pigment to darken it a bit. After it set and dried a wax top coat was applied for further protection. Norbert worked the raw butcher block top to mold two pieces together, soften the edges and give it a custom fit.

The light fixture over the sink was a design chosen to work with the other kitchen elements.

All in all we are very pleased with the final outcome of this new renovated kitchen.
