Seen here are light fixtures for the art studio ceiling. The track lighting will provide the majority of the working light needed in this room, and adding this decorative mini chandelier added a bit of elegance to the space. A nice touch to inspire creativity. As seen before in gallery images for this project, the ceiling is “beetle bark” tongue and groove, which interesting stripes in subtle grey tones. Adding to the overall grey effects throughout the house. The good news about beetle bark white pine is that most people want the clean, white version minus any variation in the wood. So we find that the beetle bark option is now and again a cost saver, as lumber yards often stock it but might not sell much of it.
This lumber was harvested and milled just up the road, north, in Colorado. We always encourage the families we uild for to source products locally for obvious reasons for everyone. Pricing is often better due to lack of shipping charges, the carbon footprint is always better as you would imagine, and of course providing work for people in our area. There is not much to lose when it comes to such things, everyone benefits.
