Shown here is the living room with feature wall painted with an vibrant teal tone. We rotate 160 degrees from the prior image to feature the contrasting color of the teal against the freshly painted white walls. As mentioned before we were racing against the clock as the movers could not adjust a move in date by a day or so and we had not completed some nano detailing. So the door trim on the sliding door (seen left) is not in place yet. But has since been put in place, of course. We simply wanted to get some photos before the home was filled with boxes and furniture as it allows us all to preview the details without distraction.
Again we call out the water based grey pigmented cement floors which have in-floor radiant heat which are powered by solar hot water panels just outside (our very simple system highlighted in one of our videos here). We have radiant in-floor heating in our own home and find it to be an amazing, comfortable way to heat a house – without hot air blowing into a room, which we prefer. The solar hot water systems we install most often are able to divert the extra not needed heat in summer into the central hot water tank for everyday use with the simply turn of a valve. Simple, efficient and sustainable, all in one.
