The combination of green plaster white arched ceiling. Both ceiling and walls were earthen plastered using clay found onsite on this project south of Santa Fe, New Mexico. The colors work well together and give a lovely look in this outdoor passage way. The green of the walls mirrors the sage green of the surrounding terrian.
Both mixtures did not require much sand (none in the case of the green) added to the mix. They were a bit challenging to apply, but both had a unique and very velvety look to them when completed. We went out into the land surrounding the project site and dug up a variety of color samples, given there were so many options on this clay heavy property. Carolyn then worked with the owner to find the best color mixes for each of the rooms we worked in. It was quite a luxury to have so many clay options at our finger tips.
