This doorway view from bedroom to bathroom shows contrasting new tiles, plasters and painted walls.
Beginning in the gold plastered bedroom. Then looking into the bright hallway painted light tan with new grey tiles. And finally beyond the pocket door – is the new bathroom.
This entire area used to be where the kitchen was located. It was gutted, new electrical and plumbing added to be closer to code requirements. New walls were framed, sheet rocked and painted to create the hallway and bathroom.
The outer, old walls are adobe. They were repaired and re-plastered with both a base coat and then the finished lime coat.
As mentioned, the new framed walls were sheet rocked and painted. Hallway paint was matched to compliment the tan lime plastered walls. In the new bathroom a very subtle blue tint was painted to relate to the grey tiles throughout.
This image gives a good view of the extensive renovation which modernized this old adobe home. We enjoyed adding nice touches and giving this old home a new facelift.
