This adobe home curved entry portal (porch) and wall is one of our favorites. The gentle arch of the overhang leads up to the large arched front door, which was hand carved in Santa Fe, New Mexico. The over all design of this house in Sedona, Arizona was created in the vernacular of Santa Fe style adobe, with southwest touches throughout the interior and decor.
Norbert executed this complex design with curved adobe walls and vertical hand-peeled posts to perfection, bringing together the stepped back adobe walls, first and second floors flawlessly. The combination of posts and 15 foot ceilings in the entry foyer, creates an open, dramatic entry to all who step inside.
The adobe home curved entry pattern is then repeated in the round flagstone path which leads from a stair, up to the front door. As another point of interest, the family asked us to help execute a small round fountain, used sparingly in this desert climate. It added more ambiance to the entrance of this unique adobe home.
