This image shows adobe walls being laid in this project we entered into as sub-contractors, our second time doing such a thing – to provide some of our earthen specialties to a project.
This home just outside of Santa Fe was a USGBC LEED certified new build. The architect and all of those involved in the custom aspects worked very hard to create a very unique space for the family. We were all too happy to step in for a few weeks to assist them with their goals.
Our adobe walls work ed well to contrast the other sharp edged aspects to this house – and in our minds did soften the house and give it a bit of an organic feel.
The adobe walls being laid up in progress in this image – creates a long banco (bench) which is a main feature of the living area. So visitors and the owners can sit nestled in the softness of the adobe bricks and the custom earthen plasters we feature in this same gallery.
