These curved brick stairs leading from new add-on to the original adobe house which now has a face lift and has whole new look. Norbert was charged with the task of not only having them step down but to create a gentle curve in the design. It can be seen when focusing closely upon on this image and seeing the small brick slivers used to achieve the twist (the inside edge of all of the brick lines in the photo).
Carolyn stepped in to help him lay the bricks and the saltillo Mexican tile risers which were left over pieces from the newly laid living room floor. The overall transition with posts, new plasters downstairs, older floor and new floor create a nice focal point as well as a providing access between the upper and lower levels to the house.
