A look at the finished poured adobe floor in the reception room in this conference center on private land just south of Santa Fe. This image also highlights where the earthen plastered walls meet the crisp, newly oiled floor near the large fireplace.

The soil used for the plasters and floors were all found onsite near the building and earthen and proved to be a perfect mix. For this wall color, Carolyn added just a bit of kaolin clay to lighten the tint, but for the most part used the soil as is.

This image shows how rich the end result floor color gets when all of the linseed coats have been applied. The deep rich tones of a wet floor return.
