This small art studio has fun polka dot plastering touches which came about quite by accident and was an experiment by Carolyn – to try and create patterns using fine kaolin clay in the earthen plaster. The results give the room the light touch intended and adds a touch of whimsy. Other features in this creative work space include a tongue and groove white pine ceiling, red oak flooring which gives the room a rich feel and the recycled and refinished door. Track lights in the studio space use LED bulbs to minimize electrical load upon the photovoltaic (PV) system installed in this off-the-grid straw bale home.
