A view of the earthen floor drying (aka mud, or poured adobe floor) as it awaits the top color coat shown also in this section-the clay based tinted alis (also called by some: aliz). The midnight blue alis will be added once this 1/2″ top coat has completely dried. The alis will be applied with a brush and slightly burnished with a sponge to soften any brush strokes, before 4 coats of linseed oil will be applied to seal and water proof the floor. Normally a wax coat would then be applied, but not for this particular floor.
