Earthen floor brick transition – seen here. Our first project with our clients, now friends was to repair the top coat of the earthen floor in this small room. This time we were asked to strip the old finish from the brick flooring on the stairs and hallway. We had some interesting discoveries while stripping the floors. It seems multiple coats with tint were applied to the brick. The stripping required multiple passes and the finish that lifted was a thick “goo”. The result of the new floor – a fresh and reddish brick. We can only assume the darker tones were a desired effect of the owners at that time. We didn’t set out to become brick floor re-strippers, but now know the process well!
